La Salle, Colorado, Fire Department

Welcome to the LaSalle Fire Protection District Web Site

The LaSalle Fire Protection District was established in 1942 and incorporated in 1949. LaSalle Fire Protection District (LSFD) serves the Town of LaSalle and the farming community surrounding it of approximately 82 square miles. LSFD serves not only as a fire and rescue department but also as a community supporter. The LSFD hosts many events for the town such as the Pelican lake kid’s triathlons, Easter egg hunts, car seat installation, and safety and fire prevention to the local school districts with the assistance of the smoke house.  LSFD built a two story mobile smoke house in 1992 to help further the education and simulations of fire in the house. This mobile smoke house is also donated to the surrounding department’s for their use in there district as well. LSFD also commits it’s time to helping others not in the district as well by donation programs such as Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Shining Stars, and support to the kids of Children’s Hospital.  LSFD has prided itself in its racing team by competitively competing in over 30 years of racing with the Colorado State Fire Fighters Association.  Many of the retired LSFD members have held office in the Colorado State Fire Fighters Association board.
